Arthritis

Arthritis is a term used to describe inflammation in one or more joints, which can cause pain, stiffness, and difficulty moving the joint(s). There are many different types of arthritis, including osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis, and psoriatic arthritis, among others.

Osteoarthritis is the most common type of arthritis and is often related to aging and wear and tear on the joints. Rheumatoid arthritis and psoriatic arthritis are autoimmune diseases in which the body’s immune system attacks the joints, leading to inflammation and joint damage.

Arthritis can develop in any joint in the body and can range from mild to severe. Common symptoms include joint pain, stiffness, swelling, and decreased range of motion. Treatment for arthritis may involve medications to reduce inflammation and pain, lifestyle changes such as regular exercise and weight management, and physical therapy to improve joint function.

It is important to work with a healthcare provider to manage arthritis and prevent or manage complications such as joint damage and disability.
