Chest Disease
“Chest disease” is a broad term that can refer to a variety of conditions that affect the respiratory system and chest area. Some examples of chest diseases include:
- Asthma: A chronic condition characterized by inflammation and narrowing of the airways, leading to difficulty breathing, wheezing, and coughing.
- Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD): A group of lung diseases that make it difficult to breathe, including chronic bronchitis and emphysema.
- Pneumonia: An infection of the lungs that can cause coughing, chest pain, fever, and difficulty breathing.
- Pulmonary embolism: A blockage in one or more arteries in the lungs, which can cause chest pain, shortness of breath, and coughing.
